SYMBIAN BELLE update for Nokia N8

The latest firmware upgrade for N8 phone Nokia has released its much talked about firmware version 111.030.0609 Named as SYMBIAN BELLE.
Why should you update your firmware ? Initially when N8 was released it had the Symbian OS, than Nokia released ANNA version of the firmware.These upgrades were necessary to make full use of the hardware capability of the phone. Now with the latest release of Symbian Belle firmware, Nokia has vastly improved the overall function of the phone.

Updated its firmware to Symbian ANNA and waited for the Symbian BELLE ( Nokia Belle) upgrade, after a long wait finally it was released on Feb.8 2012. Its quite a sizable update more than 260 MB in size so not possible to update your phone OTA(over the air). You need to install the latest version of Ovi suite version 3.3.86 Ovi suite is free from you can download from their site. After installing ovi suite, connect your phone with the USB connector Ovi suite will automatically detect your phone, from the menu click on the “Software update” icon, you must be connected to internet, the software will search and present you the available upgrades, choose the firmware and click upgrade, your download will start.Remember your phone must have ANNA firmware installed first to be able to upgrade to BELLE

If you do not know which firmware version your phone has just press *#0000# and press dial,it will display your current firmware version.
A word of caution: Do-not disconnect your phone, you must have active internet connection, the software flashes the phone and installs the firmware, during the process your phone may restart several times, ignore all the warning messages it may display,once downloading and installation is completed, you may be asked to disconnect your phone and restart.

Symbian Belle does have some improvement as far as the speed of functioning of the phone, The bonus is you get six home screenswhich you can customize according to your liking in any way you want. I have updated to Belle Does it differ from ANNA ?

and I must say as a Nokia user, the phone response to touch has improved, photo quality improved, video frame rate improved to 30fps with HD recording , but one thing i have noticed that the back function has some problems, if you open an app or any settings, and if you want to go back and tap on the back arrow, takes time to response, well i guess that’s a bug in the update or may be my phone is overloaded, a patch release is also expected soon. But overall its a good firmware update and all Nokia N8 user must update to this firmware, but remember you need to have Symbian ANNA installed in your phone before you can update to Belle.
